With „The State of the League. The FKM Annual Report“, FUSSBALL KANN MEHR presents the first report on diversity in German professional football.

The report is based on a survey that was sent to all clubs in the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga (36 in total) for the 2023/24 season. 32 clubs responded, four did not.

The report narrows the gender data gap in German professional football because it shows who leads, who monitors, and who manages the clubs in the Bundesliga and how the second management level is structured.

The report is modeled on the AllBright reports; as seen in those reports and in the world of sport, the FKM annual report also contains rankings of all participating clubs.

FOOTBALL
CAN DO
MORE

FUSSBALL KANN MEHR gGmbH is a non-profit network organization that, among other things, promotes gender equality and diversity in football.

We want to cooperate with all those who are already engaged with the sustainability of football and invite those who want to do so in the future.
At the same time, FUSSBALL KANN MEHR offers concrete support for women in football and offers for clubs, associations, companies, and institutions that consider the promotion of women and diversity in football to be necessary.

Together we want to achieve a pioneering role for football in sustainability and social justice. Because we believe in the importance of sport for our society. We are convinced that the enormous impact of football can be unleashed again if it fulfills its role as a driving force, represents its diverse following and develops a sensitivity to people’s expectations.

For the future of football, openness to new decision-makers is needed.

The Initiative

The “FUSSBALL KANN MEHR” initiative launched in May 2021 achieved a high level of attention and impact.

The publication of the eight demands for more gender equality in football caused a lot of discussion in clubs, associations and in the general public. The enormous resonance and all the offers of support have made it clear how many people are moved by the desire for renewal in football.

As a consequence of our findings and in order to support women on their career paths as well as clubs and associations, we founded FUSSBALL KANN MEHR gGmbH. To give all people the opportunity to participate and contribute their commitment. Because football can do so much more when it becomes visible how many people believe in it.

We welcome all those who join us in this commitment.
